IA64 performance

Guys,

Just a note for people interested in the IA64.  A user wrote in with
performance problems, and I have confirmed that RedHat's 2.96-ia64-000717
release gives ATLAS performance of 1/5 of gcc 3.0.  If you have problems
getting good performance, install 3.0.
